3 years

Happy 3 years to me and my husband! It's amazing how time flies. It feels like yesterday I met him, and now we have 3 children and a dog. It's bitter sweet. I love that we have a family, but I hate to see everything get older. I tell my husband I don't want my baby to get older, but his dream as a father is to see his sons become men. I guess it's the mushy mom in me that doesn't want change. Either way I have an amazing family and husband that I would not trade for the world.

We went and ate at Beef O' Brady's, and it was delicious. I had the Angus Cheeseburger wrap....yummm, and for dessert I had a S'more type cake thing. "chingadera" Oh, and I got puked on by my youngest. It was great. We made chocolate covered strawberries and enjoyed wine, while watching "Machete". I don't think it was the best pick....def not a romantic lol.

Like my tray? I made it ;) Tutorial coming soon.

Mod Podge Table

{Mod Podge Table Part 1}

I have the typical Army family black Wal-Mart coffee table. Thankfully I have an awesome leather ottoman in place of that now. I thought I'd up-cycle it into something....cooler. Today I'm going to spray paint the legs and sides white, then sand down the top of the table. I like the distressed look so I'll sand the legs down just enough to let the black paint show through.

I have some really cool scrapbook paper that looks like newspaper clippings, and it's kind of vintage-y, but let's see how the sanding goes first. We just bought an electric sander, so it'll be my first time!

My spray paint went nuts, so I have to get a different one tomorrow....or else I would have shown this step tonight as well. Keep your eyes open for part 2!

Wickless Candles

 Tonight my girlfriend is having a scentsy party. Let me tell you about Scentsy. It is addictive, it's wax, and it's wickless. There are warmers that contain a low wattage light bulb, which are warm enough to melt the wax, but not burn like a normal candle would. The wax comes in packages called bars, and there are about a billion of them. Any scent you could think of, and then some. I'm pretty excited to buy some fall and winter scents. Nothing warms a home more than the smell of {pumpkin marshmallow}. My absolute favorite.

I am going to buy the Jane warmer....(see below). It's so pretty! I'm seriously obsessed with this stuff. Soon, I am going to start selling it...I figure the only way to really satisfy my cravings are to be around it all the time...so why not?

 If you haven't already jumped on the Scentsy bandwagon, you should! Not to mention it is a great excuse to host a party, get together, girls night, or whatever you want to label it. :)

Felt Hair Bow

{Felt Hair Bow}

Even though I have three boys, making stuff for little girls is so much fun. These felt bows are perfect and playful for little girls, not to mention cheap and simple to make. Just in time to match your little one's back to school outfits!

What you need:
  • Felt
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Alligator Clips

Cut Felt into strips 9 and 1/2 inches long, and 2 inches wide. Cut another strip 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Fold the large piece in half, with the ends meeting in the middle. Hot glue a line down the middle and press the ends down into place. Be careful not to burn yourself!

Next pinch together the middle to make the bow shape. Place dots of glue between the folds to hold them down, then take the smaller strip of felt and wrap it around the cinched part.

Add hot glue to the back of the bow, place on the clip, and voila!
